The San Francisco Bay Area Publicity Club is a non-profit
network of 150 public relations professionals, agencies,
independent practitioners, non-profit organizations, government
agencies, and media. The Club is a resource for publicists
interested in regularly hearing directly from the media, staying
current with issues in the communications industry, networking
with professionals, and improving media contacts and skills
through ongoing developed relationships.

February 20: Get
inside CBS 5
Visit San Franciscos CBS television affiliate, CBS 5. Take
a tour of the station, learn about its news and programming
including Eye on the Bay and Bay
Sunday and find out the best ways to work with our
leading Bay Area broadcast station.
March 19: Bay
Area travel writers
San Francisco has become the worlds most popular city with
its incredible diversity of culture, beauty and so so many things
to do. But it extends beyond the city, with countless adventures
awaiting us within a two-hour drive. Join us March 19 to meet
several journalists whose job it is to let us know about the so
so many things to do.
April 16: Green
press
Green is white hot. Booms in conservation, clean technology and
energy, responsible building and other topics of sustainability
have led to both a new economy and newspaper beat. But is it easy
being green? Our media panel will dish the dirt.
May 21: Biotechnology
press
What are the emerging trends in biotechnology reporting? What
should PR people remember when contacting reporters regarding
biotechnology?
June 18: LGBT
press
How has LGBT reporting changed in the last five years? What is
the impact of stories targeted specifically to these groups? How
should pitches be framed when made to these publications or
reporters?
July 23 : Branding

you further your PR efforts through a powerful brand? How does
builidng your brand impact your PR efforts?

Hour
Mingle with other PR professionals, learn more about the

Pubby Awards
Nominate, select and honor the top journalists in the San
Francisco Bay Area. The Pubbies are a time-honored tradition, and
a favorite event for both Pubbers and journalists.
October 22: Business,
technology and money press
Possibly the three largest industries in San Francisco
each could be its own topic. During this luncheon we will hear
from reporters about timing, information and communication
and the best way to get your story placed.
November 19: Lifestyle
press
Lifestyle press in San Francisco is certainly varied, and with
the amount of outdoor activities, restaurants, parks and
attractions in the area, its hard to know how to get your
news out.

press
How do you target specific ethnicities? Are there more
